Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and the panel discuss men that have contributed greatly down through the ages, discussing Martin Luther and his teachings on justification by faith, and what God needed to bring to the world. It was an opening again to the Word of God out of the dark ages; men that helped us get that done were Swingy in Sweden, and Calvin in Germany. But there is one aspect that needs to be looked at, it’s God’s way. Brother Swaggart adds that those individuals, as they grew older in life, their work for God showed forth some mistakes. There will be some people that have embraced error all of their life, and yet make heaven their home. Luther, in his thirties, was in the middle of a debate with the Catholic Church. Later in his fifties, he wrote a pamphlet against Jews. Even writings by Calvin, while he didn’t write so much about the Jews, but when he did, it wasn't pleasant. This is what many grew up with; it was a generational learning of behavior that was not right.
