Who is self-righteous at heart? Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss Romans 2:2-3. But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth. The Apostle Paul is laying the groundwork for truth, which is the New Covenant. This puts to rest a person evaluating himself or herself based on what they do, and falsely believing that this makes them better than another. God’s judgment sees to that. And do you think this O man, who judges them, which do such things and do the same. (You the Jew), that you shall escape the judgment of God. Brother Swaggart says many Jews thought the privilege of birth as a Jew would, of itself, insure their entrance into the kingdom; that was their mindset, I’m a Jew, I’m born into the Covenant, and I’m saved. Brother Swaggart, says this is still the same with people today; there are those that truly, from the heart accept Jehovah God, and desire to walk in Covenant with Him. He reminds us, the Mosaic Law wasn’t for people to get saved, it was to guide people who were in Covenant and wanted to be in relationship with God; if you don’t understand the means of salvation, then Covenant becomes something else entirely.
