Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and the panel read Romans chapter one discussing the wrath of God as it is revealed against men who repress the truth. In verse 18, we see God’s wrath is expressed as He turns the sinner over to another power. It’s a motif all the way through chapter one. Brother Larson says this is not God giving up on the sinner, but God giving them over to their desires. If man rejects God’s outstretched hands towards him, after time, God will turn him over to the power of sin. So many Americans are being turned over to a reprobate mind accepting all kinds of sexual sin and sexual confusion; as we see uncleanness through the lusts of men and women's own hearts, dishonoring their own bodies between themselves. Brother Swaggart explains how God doesn’t give man over right away, but with the downward spiral of sin, eventually the Lord will lower His hedge of protection around us, leaving us to our own devices. In time, we will see, sin does not satisfy, with God’s ultimate goal being reconciliation and our repentance and acceptance of Jesus Christ.
