Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read Ephesians 2:8-10, for by grace are you saved, through faith? God’s process of changing us, and saving us, must always be by the process of faith. Grace is the result of the proper object of faith. We’re justified by faith; we’re sanctified by faith, and one day when the trump of God sounds, we’ll be glorified because of our faith. God will not accept the boasting of salvation by works; far too many lose their way because they want the glory for doing something that they think sanctifies them. The Apostle Paul teaches that even Abraham could not boast in his own works; therefore, how shall you and I boast? Abraham believed God and it was accounted to him for righteousness. He was promised a great nation, and from him came the seed, and a land Covenant. This preceded the Covenant that was given to Moses and the Jews; by the deeds of the law, no flesh shall be justified.
