Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss the power of sin and the need to see progressive sanctification in our lives. The Apostle Paul preached strongly on our perfect, righteous position when we accept Jesus Christ; our position will never change if our faith remains anchored in Christ, but our condition should change, this is the sanctification process. This is where the Lord is bringing our condition up to our position in Christ. This will continue for the rest of our lives until either we die, or until the day of Jesus Christ, because Paul said this is the confidence that we have that He has done a good work in us and will continue it until the day of Jesus Christ. Brother Swaggart says far too often the church confuses these two components, and ends up trying to live for God the wrong way. It’s not about what we do, but what we believe. Correct belief will result in everything we need for life and living in this world.
