Believers are to grow in the grace and the knowledge of the Lord. The church in Rome was not void of Paul’s message of the New Covenant, but there was much dissension amongst the Jews and the Gentiles, who were becoming a core fabric of the church. Issues over the Jewish law divided the newly returned Jews and the Gentiles. Paul’s understanding of the New Covenant and influence as the Apostle to the Gentiles was needed to establish the people to the true knowledge of Jesus Christ.
