Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss how the believer is crucified with Christ at salvation. We are to be dead to the sin nature; it has been made idle. The believer should not see the sin nature rise up again if they keep their faith anchored in the finished work of Christ. The Apostle Paul says we are to reckon the old man dead, and now we can live as a new creation in Christ Jesus. Unfortunately, and all too often, the believer does not realize they have misplaced their faith and looked for victory over sin in self-efforts and church doctrine. These are never the answer, and will remove the believer's faith from being exclusively in Christ.
