The believer is freed from the power of the sin nature at salvation. Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read Romans 6:3-11 explaining that this is something we are to account for, and understand, in our lives. We are dead indeed to sin, and alive unto God. Based on this alone, we can stop letting the sin nature reign. We are to know this; the sin nature, and its lordship, could be active in our life, if we don’t approach our relationship with Christ correctly. When we keep our faith exclusively in Christ and what He has done, the sin nature will stay dormant and not reign in our lives. Our faith, in the Cross of Christ, is the means by which God wants us to overcome sin.
