The law creates a desire for sin. Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss Romans 5:19-21. The law didn’t just identify sin, but it stirred up passion for sin. The Jews only had their flesh to work out what they thought was righteousness through willpower. The Holy Spirit was not present in their self-efforts. Brother Swaggart says we see the same in many modern churches today; nothing in my hands I bring, only to the Cross cling.
