Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read Romans 5:10. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled we shall be saved by His life. This is the only way we can be reconciled. This does not speak of Christ's perfect life, but rather the pouring out of His life’s blood at Calvary. Being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath. We can look at that in the sense of payment for sin, another benefit of justification. Being reconciled, we are saved by His life; the Cross not only saves us from the wrath of God relative to sins committed, but it also releases to us the very life of Christ in us, through the person of the Holy Spirit.
