The law cannot provide man righteousness. Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss how law is not the means of living for Christ. Explaining Romans 7:2-4, the Apostle Paul is teaching how man becomes dead to the law with his union with Christ. We are free to be married to Christ and are now accountable to Christ. The Romans then, and man now, could not and cannot, keep the law and serve Christ. Our faith must be anchored in Christ alone and nothing else. Jesus paid it all, and man is not to establish any law of living in their life. Pastor Paris says, when the believer learns to live free from the law, he or she will not be dominated by the power of the sin nature, and faith alone will actually produce a person that is pleasing to God as a servant of righteousness by the power of the Holy Spirit. A victorious Christian life cannot come by doing, but by believing.
