Accountability partners and similar groups are not the answer for sin in a believer’s life; but unfortunately, these are commonly found as core church programs. What we struggle and battle with, in this life, has already been won and defeated by Christ on Calvary’s Cross. In Christ we can be dead to sin because Christ delivered us when we said yes to Him. We mature in our trust in what Christ has done, and then the Holy Spirit will move us forward in these benefits that were already granted to us at salvation. Reading Galatians 5:5-6, Brother John reminds us how we, through the Spirit, wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. He alone brings us the benefits we are seeking to walk out a victorious Christian life.
