I understand not. When we know the true message of Christ and Him crucified, then we know how great our need. The law draws us to the knowledge of our sin and our great need. Here, the Apostle Paul is writing as a saved individual, realizing his sin, and hating it. He wanted it gone, but how to perform that? God revealed to Paul the answer. We are to be established in the faith, this is the only way to walk out a victorious Christian life as God has intended.
