God gave the law to expose what is in man’s heart. Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read Romans 7:8 discussing how all men are born under the law, so no one has ever existed without the law. The Apostle Paul is teaching how the sin nature is silenced with our union with Christ. At salvation, we are dead to the law, that being the sin nature, which is made dormant, and this is where the divine nature enters in. Our faith must stay anchored in Christ’s finished work, because the sin nature can be reactivated if we turn our faith from Christ and Him crucified to something else. We are not to glory in self; scripture is clear we must glory in Christ alone. As Christians, we can know, Christ alone on Calvary’s Cross won the battle for every struggle we have.
