Everything of the Old Covenant points to Jesus Christ, our slain Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world. Believers today are to learn from the Old Covenant, but we are no longer to try and live by law keeping. A born again believer now has the Holy Spirit living inside, Jesus Christ fulfilled the law of old on Calvary’s Cross, so when we believe on His finished work, His standard of righteousness convicts within. Under the New Covenant, when we even hate another person, the scripture says we are committing murder in our hearts.
