God wants us to love Him, but He doesn’t force us to love Him. Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss Calvinism and Universalism. Calvinism falsely teaches that our eternity for heaven or hell is already selected by God, so it doesn’t matter what the believer chooses; it’s chosen for him or her. Universalism falsely teaches that the atonement was for all. Brother Watts explains how Jesus Christ did die for all, but all have to accept Him as their Lord and Savior to spend eternity with Him in heaven. Universalists deny eternal judgment, as they say the love of God will accept everyone for eternity, regardless of personal choice; with no eternal hell. Brother Larson explains our loving God in view of our Holy God; in His holiness He cannot accept sin. We are at first made acceptable to God through His plan, where through the blood of Christ we become justified. If man will not accept this, the alternative is eternal hell. God’s way is very clear.
