At salvation, the believer is now set apart for God. Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss progressive sanctification and the victory we can have when we anchor our faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. This is the only way to overcome sin in our lives. This faith allows the Holy Spirit to take out what shouldn’t be in our lives, and put in what God wants to see in us. Brother Larson says this shows forth how we not only receive victory over sin, but also receive the fruit in the Spirit. When we abide in Christ, He abides in us. This is not something we do; it’s where we are. Our position is in Christ when we say yes to Him, the Holy Spirit then works on our behalf to bring our condition up to our position.
