When man is under legalism and law, he can only bear fruit unto death. Today on A Study in The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read Romans 7:5 discussing the efforts of self and the motion of sin, which is fueled by the power of the sin nature. Law will reveal sin, but it cannot free man from the power of the sin nature. Only faith in the finished work of Christ on the Cross can free man from the bondage of sin; any other way is of the flesh of man and not the Spirit of God. The Cross of Christ is the ways and means of the New Covenant. He is the answer for every need of man.
