Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read Romans 8:2 discussing how the Holy Spirit will give us victory over sin when we anchor our faith in the Cross of Jesus Christ. Brother Swaggart discusses the pull of sin, even in a believer’s life; the believer truly wants to be set free from their sin. Jesus Christ paid the highest price on the Cross to set every believer free, but this freedom can only come God’s way. The Apostle Paul uses Abraham as our example of justification. His promise was not just for a son, but it was for a seed to bring forth the way for a nation to come. That lineage would be the linage that our Savior, Jesus Christ would come through. This was faith in God’s redemption plan; all of Abraham’s hope in his flesh had to die; believers today are no different.
