Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss the power of the Holy Spirit to regenerate us. With the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit living inside us, the fruit of the Spirit will grow and mature us as we are conformed into the image of Christ. We must not negate or discount that which occurs at salvation. The panel discusses the baptism of the Holy Spirit, which is a secondary work that comes after the primary of salvation; this infilling, is for service in the kingdom of God. Being born again is a New Covenant provision, but being saved has been something that has been tracked all the way back to Abel. The panel discusses the two, and what benefits were available then and now. The Holy Spirit living inside us, either for life and living, or for service, was not made available until after Christ died on Calvary.
