For hundreds of years, Israel was the only nation on the face of the earth that knew anything about God. Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss Israel being a monotheistic nation; meaning, they worshiped one God, which was Jehovah. All other nations of the world were polytheistic, worshiping many gods, i.e. demon spirits. God’s intention was that Israel would be the light of the world, and they were for a period of time, before turning on God. The ten tribes had already fallen 133 years before Judah lost her way; the world went dark as far as the Gospel was concerned. God still intends for Israel to be the leading nation of the world; that will happen at the Second Coming, but only after the acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Israel must repent for the crucifying of Christ. Jesus said the time of the Gentiles would end in the Great Tribulation period, at the Second Coming; and it will. Then, Israel will rule the entire world from Jerusalem, under Christ; as He will be the President of every nation on the face of the earth.
