Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss the magnitude of what Christ accomplished on Calvary’s Cross. When our faith is anchored in Christ’s finished work, the Holy Spirit will use His power to help give us victory over sin. This power is accessible at salvation, where the sinner is washed, sanctified, and justified. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is a second subsequent work that follows salvation when a seeking believer asks to be filled. The baptism of the Holy Spirit will always result in the speaking in other tongues. Christ won all man needs on Calvary’s Cross; receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit will then guide, help, and direct as we move forward in fulfilling the call to share the gospel and serve others.
