Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and the panel discuss Romans 1:8; First I thank my God, through Jesus Christ for you all that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world. Speaking here of the Roman Empire, Paul had never been to Rome, but he was compelled to go. The Roman Empire was dark; people were being martyred, and many were worshiping multiple gods and Caesar. Paul wanted to shine the light of Christ in this very dark place. Some places are just more influential than others. Rome was a powerful factor anywhere in the world. Paul, very likely, was intending to make Rome a central location, and then, he would branch out and take the gospel all over Europe.
