There is a need for confession of sin in every believer’s life. Today on A Study in the Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read Romans 4:8, blessed is the man whom the Lord will not impute sin. Looking at the life of David, the panel explains how unconfessed sin in a believer’s life will erode our faith over time. The Holy Spirit will bring conviction, but without correct response, guilt will eventually bring a downward spiral as truth is repressed in unrighteousness. Sin is real in our lives, and it must be dealt with if a person is to go forward with God. Brother Larson reminds us how justification by faith lays the foundation for sanctification by faith; we must not misuse what God has given us. Discussing the false teachings of the Grace Revolution, Dr. Gray reads 1 John 1:8-9, if we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. These words are clearly stated for every believer.
