Pharaoh typified the Gentile world, and Joseph was a type of Christ. Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss Joseph going from imprisonment to standing before Pharaoh, the mightiest monarch on the face of the earth, and telling him what he’s dreamed. Then his father is told he is alive. This being likened to the day Christ will appear to Israel at the Second Coming, and they will see Him and His beauty; from carpenter’s garb to magnificence and glory. Comparing Joseph’s and Jacob’s reunion to the story of Jesus’ 2nd coming; Israel will ask Jesus where He got His wounds, He will say in the house of my friends. Brother Swaggart says this is equivalent to the brother’s confession to Jacob, that they were the ones that actually sold Joseph into slavery. The Lord said, I will remember my covenant with Jacob, and my covenant with Isaac, and my covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land. God will remember that covenant, and He will restore Israel, and He will bring them in. He is the Lord of the harvest.
