Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read Romans 8:16 discussing how the Holy Spirit Himself bears witness with our Spirit that we are the children of God. If you have asked yourself, am I saved or not, Satan will make us think such a thing at times, but it may be possible that we aren’t saved. Belonging to a church, or taking the Lord’s’ supper doesn’t save, nor does water baptism, or some such thing. If that is what you are thinking, you are wrong. You are not saved; to be saved, to have eternal life, to have a great more abundant life, one must accept Jesus Christ, as one’s Savior and Lord. It is all wrapped up in Jesus Christ, and it doesn’t require much of us, but it requires that we accept Him as Lord and as Savior.
