Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss the Reform teaching under Calvin, and some of his incorrect doctrines and misunderstandings of regeneration. We believe that when the person recognizes they are a sinner and makes the choice to accept Christ as Savior, regeneration happens immediately. Regeneration is being baptized into Christ, not water baptism, but the spiritual joining of both entities, the believing sinner, it happens immediately. We are united with Christ, crucified with Him, buried with Him, and raised up with Him a new creation. Our soul is recreated, our spirit is recreated, and the Holy Spirit takes up resident within us and begins to speak to us, immediately.
