Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss the baptism with the Holy Spirit and how the Holy Spirit works in the life of a believer. At salvation, the believer anchors their faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on Calvary’s Cross, here the Holy Spirit comes in and works to change the believer. When this is the focus of our faith, the sin nature will stay unplugged in our lives and victory will be the result. The baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues is a second subsequent work that is available to every believer who only asks and yields to this gift of a prayer language. The panel discusses that, all too often, believers wrongly place their faith in this gift for their victory.
