Putting faith in anything, other than the finished work of Jesus Christ, is a false idol that comes against the Word of God. Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and the panel study Romans 1:23. Brother Swaggart says today we find people making their own image of God just as the early Greeks did in Athens or the Buddhists in Thailand. Are we just ignorant? Creation and conscious should still be a witness for those who don’t know the Word of God. Brother Larson says clearly spiritual foolishness still exists today, even though many don’t make idols out of their own hands like a statue, but they are making idols out of men. Man is determined to make something a god; for some it’s money, a home, a vehicle, or a superstar. We love our possessions, and will lift up men who have wealth and fame. People will worship that which they want to become, and will idolize anything other than the Savior God has given us.
