What does Jesus say about abiding in Christ? Today on A Study in The Word, Brother Swaggart and panel explain just what it means to abide in Christ in John 15:5. Brother Bob Cornell says it refers to Christlikeness which means our dependence, as a believer, is exclusively in what Jesus did for all at Calvary’s Cross. The only proper way to live for God is to look unto Jesus solely for everything and not put faith in any works of our flesh. Brother Swaggart explains the Spiritual oppression that he experienced when he didn’t understand the Cross for sanctification, but only for salvation. The panel referenced the 1904 Welsh revival, as a great move of God; and how, after some two years, it was hindered by a spirit of darkness. The panel discusses how the revival started to weaken, how that affected leader Evan Roberts who was very sensitive to the moving of the Holy Spirit throughout the height of the revival.
