Proper faith will give the believer victory over the world, the flesh, and the devil. Today on A Study In the Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss the millions today who are saved, and filled with the Holy Spirit, but are still living in a state of acute frustration. They’re not finding victory in their lives, and sin is overcoming them. The believer must realize the Holy Spirit works exclusively in the finished work of Christ, and He will not work outside of those parameters. God cannot function where there is sin. The Cross eliminated our sin at salvation. It doesn’t mean we’ll never sin again, but the Cross of Christ answered all sin, totally and completely, this gives the Holy Spirit latitude to work in our hearts and lives. Before the Cross, the Holy Spirit could not come into a believer’s heart because the blood of bulls and goats could not take away sin, only Jesus Christ’s death at Calvary could.
