Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read 1st Corinthians 6:9; do you not know that you unrighteous shall not inherit the Kingdom of God? This verse shoots down the unscriptural doctrine of unconditional eternal security. Here, Paul is speaking to the church, the saved. He warns that deception is at hand and sin in a believer’s life must be addressed. The proof of true Christianity is a changed life. With our faith anchored in the finished work of Christ, the blood of Jesus cleanses us; we are justified and declared not guilty. The Holy Spirit, the third person of the triune Godhead, is the mechanic in this great work of grace.
