God’s words of warning are a message of grace. Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss Daniel 4:31; while the word was in the kings mouth, there fell a voice from heaven saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar to you it is spoken, the kingdom is departed from you. The kingdom is departed from you is a stupefying statement indeed, all this, the king claimed for his own, and claimed by his own hand, instead would be proved otherwise. The Lord gave Nebuchadnezzar a year to repent, but this mighty monarch did not see a need to repent. God’s grace is seen here, even giving the king a dream to see his need through Daniel’s interpretation. This is how the Spirit of God deals with our hearts and lives. It’s a fearful thing, to fall into the hands of an angry God. We need the grace of God, and the power of the Holy Spirit, to reveal to us the need for repentance in our lives. A true preacher of God is obedient in his preaching of repentance, faith and grace.
