Why am I thus? The words of Rachel, asking the Lord why were there two children of different natures warring within her. Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel discuss the sin nature that remains in every person who believes. The good news is we don’t have to be at war with the sin nature. Romans six teaches believers how to have freedom from the dominion of the sin nature. Brother Larson reminds us, that if we forever recognize our need, and ever keep our faith in Christ, and what Christ did for us at the Cross, then the source of sin is dealt with. The sin nature will have no power and remain dormant in us. We must not deny the sin nature, but recognize this source of sin, so the power of the Holy Spirit can eliminate little by little, line upon line, precept by precept the actions and the symptomatic results of being what we are today, still in the flesh; this does not promote sinless perfection, but rather, freedom from the dominion of sin, by proper faith in Christ, under the provision of the New Covenant.
