Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and the panel discuss Daniel 9:16; O Lord, according to all your righteousness, I beseech you. Let your anger and your fury be turned away from your city Jerusalem. God was angry about Israel. He was angry with Jerusalem. We may think that God doesn’t get angry, but He does. But it’s a different kind of anger than our anger. His anger is because He knows we are hurting ourselves. He is concerned about us; when we sin, it causes problems for us. This is God’s love for us. He doesn’t want to see us hurting ourselves. In the Abrahamic Covenant, the land promise was just as effective as the seed promise, meaning the coming of Messiah. They intrinsically work together. This is the city where God would place His name. This is the city where the Lord is going to reign in righteousness in the Great Millennium. This is the eternal city that God will actually bring down from heaven.
