The Holy Spirit will deliver us from the bondage of any sin. Today on A Study In The Word, Evangelist Jimmy Swagggart reads Romans 6:1-4 discussing Satan’s efforts to destroy the child of God through the power of the sin nature. But we are a new creation in Christ Jesus; 1st Corinthians 6:11 says, such WERE some of you. We have been washed, sanctified, and justified and sin is not to have dominion over us. But far too often, the church takes the attitude of sin lightly, wrongly stating, that it does matter to God what we do. He didn’t save us so we would stay in our sin He saved us from it. The Holy Spirit convicts the believer of the sin in their life, if we are not receiving this conviction we are growing cold to the ways of God. This is a very dangerous place to be. The Holy Spirit will always lead the believer into what is right. Denial of a sin nature leads to unbelief. Faith in Christ will always address sin. God gets no glory out of sin, and scripture is clear, God forbid that we glory in anything except the Cross of Christ. Shall we continue in sin? God forbid.
