What do you understand about Pentecost? Brother Swaggart and panel today on A Study in The Word shed light on that wonderful day in history and how Pentecost is still alive and well today. Brother Loren Larson believes the Message of The Cross is beginning to bring together the Baptist view, which focuses on Salvation and Pentecostals who put emphasis on the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. The panel hopes to see the two mindsets come together as Christ work on Calvary would only expect. Brother Swaggart reminds that Jesus atoned for everything. When Jesus paid the price on the Cross and the veil was rent, He first went to Paradise and led the Saints out of captivity. Brother Swaggart reminisces on the old hymn, of the words, the old account was standing with sins; yet the keeper settled that account. Brother Dave Smith and Dr. Don Paul Gray explain 1 John 1:9, where we are instructed to confess our sins and they will be forgiven. The panel makes clear this is not a Word of Faith mindset. Refusal to bring our sin to the Lord, then sentences the believer’s heart and mind to live with their sin and never truly know the rest that Christ offered, to all who ask and believe, on His finished work at Calvary that covers all sin. When you acknowledge what you have done wrong, Christ says, NOT guilty.
