The purpose of the Old Covenant Law was to reveal sin. Today on A Study In The Word Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read Romans 7:13 teaching how trying to keep the law or self-works will only work death in us by that which is good. God designed the law to awaken us to our sinfulness. Outside of Christ, man cannot keep the law. There is only one way to find victory over sin and that is God’s way. Now, Jesus Christ is the Covenant. Jesus Christ died on Calvary’s Cross to pay the debt for sin and break the power of sin. All who will believe on Him, and anchor their faith in His finished work alone will then see the Holy Spirit work in our lives to transform us into the image of Christ.
