SET FREE BY THE MESSAGE OF THE CROSS- Today at Crossfire, Pastor Paris Ragan preaches from Romans 6:15-18. What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? The gospel is what Jesus did at Calvary. It’s His life. It’s His death. It’s His burial. It’s His resurrection. It’s His ascension into Heaven. The Gospel is Jesus and what He did at Calvary. The power of God for salvation has been manifested in the Gospel; that also means the ongoing work of salvation, the sanctification process, our everyday living. This includes the issues of our hearts that God is still trying to deal with today. His power delivers us from sin, not only sin’s guilt, not only sin’s penalty, but also sin’s authority over our lives. This has been accomplished in the Gospel, and is revealed from faith to faith. It’s not a work of our labor. It’s not what we do, but what He has done for us. We rest in His finished work.
