LOVE AND SHACKLES-Tonight at Crossfire, Pastor Shaun Murphy reads Judges 16:15-22 teaching on the story of Samson, defined as the only one to take a Nazarite vow for their entire life. An angel of the Lord appeared to his mother, a barren woman, and said you are going to have a child, set apart from birth. He will be a Nazarite unto Me, unto the Lord, and no razor is to touch his head; it is appealing to support the idea that his hair is his strength. The Nazarite vow was a picture of separation from worldliness to a person who is literally a symbol of someone who can enter into the presence of God at any moment. In the Word of God, we read about the importance of the consecration of the head, the consecration of the hair and if it is defiled, they must shave it, and start over. Pastor Shaun asks the question, what does the shaving represent, and when did Samson’s sin begin in his life involving three women, and did he do so without losing his anointing of God? The hair was literally the diadem, it was the crown, it was the outward sign of his consecration to God. Samson fell in love with Delilah, and this brought chains to his life. Do you find yourself shackled to an ungodly love, something, or someone, that falls into the category of unrighteousness? We must ask God to protect us from these, and instead, seek to fall in love with Jesus, and be transformed into the person God wants us to be.
