POUR OUT YOUR HEART TO THE LORD- Hannah loved the Lord. Tonight at Crossfire Pastor Paris Ragan preaches from 1 Samuel 1:2, preaching on the barrenness of Hannah. There are a lot of areas in our lives that are kind of like Hannah’s, dealing with her barrenness. They’re not bringing forth life. Maybe it’s a family relationship, or a friendship, maybe it’s just you; you were excited to accept Christ and live for Him. Hannah was the same, excited to let God use her to do something great. She wanted to have a child, but now years have gone by and she is unable to conceive. She likely heard whispers going on behind her back, look, there goes Hannah, the cursed woman. Her husband, Elkanah, was a godly man and offered up sacrifices to the Lord because He loved the Lord. When He offered up these sacrifices, he would bring back a portion for his wife Peninnah and her children, and he’d bring back a double portion for his wife Hannah. Pastor Paris says when we find ourselves in a similar situation, we need to understand something, God has even more grace for us. He has a double portion of grace to see us through.
