THE WAIT OF JOSHUA— Tonight at Crossfire, Associate Pastor Shaun Murphy studying from Exodus chapters 24 and 32. Here we learn of God’s and Moses meeting in the cloud, giving Moses instruction of the tabernacle; the tent that would be a picture of Christ, a type of Christ, and giving instruction of the priest’s duties. Meanwhile, Aaron and the people below are calling a golden calf Jehovah. Brother Shaun asks, and where was Joshua while all this was going on? For forty days, and this forty days would typify and picture the next forty years of Joshua’s life. Not being the one, as Moses talking to God, not being the one leading the people, not being in the midst of their idolatry; just sitting, waiting, as God prepares him for what He called him to do. This is one of the greatest types of Christ found in the Old Testament. Joshua's book would be one of the greatest books of victory in the bible, if not the greatest book of victory. He would be the person to lead the people of Israel into the promise land; but first, he waits.
