MEET ME AT THE ALTAR- Israel was in spiritual decay, living in physical drought. Tonight at Family Worship Center, Pastor Shaun Murphy preaches from 1st Kings 18:18-20. Brother Murphy encourages us that God will provide for His children no matter how bad the circumstances get. We assume in this story, rain is Israel’s answer; but in actuality we, like Israel, must not just sustain ourselves with water at the brook, but seek change at the altar. There’s a call for Israel to get to the altar of Mount Carmel. We must be just as desperate for God’s Holiness and righteousness. Brother Murphy says as Christians we must be life for people to see in this current world of spiritual drought and decay. God’s power is greater than all powers of darkness. Elijah repaired the altar, and God consumed the sacrifice offered. We serve the same Holy and just God today. Be still, and know that I am God. (Psalm 46:10)
