IT IS STILL GOD’S WILL TO SAVE AND TO HEAL- Tonight at Family Worship Center, Pastor David Watts reads 1 Peter 2:24 preaching on atonement and divine healing, which only comes through the finished work of Christ on the Cross. Jesus Christ still heals the sick, for He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. All doctrine must be built on the Cross of Christ. Jesus died in our place, which is known as substitutionary atonement. Brother Watts explains the false doctrines of the moral influence theory, the ransom theory, and the satisfaction theory, which led up to the Reformer's understanding that Jesus alone paid our debt with His death on the Cross. The gospel is the Word of the Cross. Brother Watts says, during Christ’s earthly ministry, we see His power to heal was a witness to His authority to forgive of sin. The service ends, as the Holy Spirit moves, with an altar call for salvation and healing. He is the Lord, Thy God, who health thee. Jesus forgives our sin, He heals, and He gives abundant life to His children.
