AND GOD BLESSED THE HOUSE OF OBED-EDOM- And God wants to bless your house as well. Today at Family Worship Center, Pastor Gabriel Swaggart preaches from 2 Samuel 6:6-11 on the return of the Ark of the Covenant to David. Pastor Gabe encourages us, God is a personal God; what He does for one, He will do for all. God wants to take us just a little deeper, for He has waters to swim in. He shares the return of the Ark of God to Jerusalem, as it had been gone for some 70 years. It typified the presence of God, containing the commandments, Aaron’s rod, and manna. When Eli was the great high priest, his sons did not obey God; many looked at the Ark as a magic box. Hearing the news that the Ark was taken in battle, Eli fell back and broke his neck and died, and for 70 years the glory of the Lord had departed from Israel. Brother Gabe says many churches today have lost the presence of the Lord and don’t even realize it. As King David knew the Ark should come in on the shoulders of the priests, but with the effort to bring it back on a new cart, the Lord showed his anger resulting in the death of Uzzah. Pastor Gabe says this is likened to the church trying to bring in a new way of God. When we borrow from the world, no good comes from it. People are dying in the church because a false way is given and there is death in the camp. We must only consult the Word of God and not the world. King Obed-Edom was a Levite. He attended to the Ark of the Covenant and knew the presence and blessings of God after David leaves it at his house. Can we remember when the Ark of God came to our house?
