THE PROMISE AND PRONOUNCEMENT PART II- Stay the course, stay in The Word, and don’t fear. Today Pastor Gabriel Swaggart reminds that we have the promises of God when we believe on the Finished Work of Christ. There is a distinction from the promise and the possession. He reminds us of Abraham’s promise in the Book of Genesis to go forward and leave his family of idol worshipers. Abraham was given a promise from God, but with the command to go forward he was not given a road map. Abraham had to walk by faith as he left everything he’d ever known behind. In Joshua 1:6-9, Joshua was told to take the promise land and to be strong and of good courage. That command is repeated several times in the Book of Joshua. Brother Gabe says we are being told here, to trust. We are to be encouraged in this walk of faith as we go forward; there will be enemies in the land and thus battles, just as Joshua faced. But God encourages us to not have a spirit of fear. As believers our sanctification will be a lifelong process, from salvation to death or the rapture, whichever we experience first. The Holy Spirit is molding us, and making us into the men and women God wants us to be. Trust in what Jesus has already provided at Calvary’s Cross and you will have victory. Don’t leave your direction and protection, for you will find prosperity and good success when you keep the faith and stay the course; all which is promised in God’s Word.
