LET MY PEOPLE GO- Today at Family Worship Center, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart reads from Exodus 5:1-2, preaching against the power that tries to keep the soul in bondage. Brother Swaggart says the church today is in the same spiritual condition as was Israel under Egyptian bondage. But God gave an answer then, with just two men, Aaron, Moses and a stick leading them out; it was a lamb for a house. There were some 3-million Israelites delivered that day, and they didn’t go out as slaves. They went out in fine clothing with their pockets full of silver and gold, and they were no longer feeble. Brother Swaggart tells us to be encouraged; the Lord is going to do it again. The blood of the lamb has washed us; we are saved, sanctified, and we can live this life in victory over sin. While we can’t save ourselves, we also can’t sanctify ourselves. It is God’s will that we grow into the image of Christ, in His grace, and His knowledge. When we anchor our faith in the finished work of Christ, then the Holy Spirit works on our behalf and sets us free. God is still saying, “Let my people go!”
