Let me tell you why I am happy? He took on Him the seed of Abraham. Tonight at Family Worship Center, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read Hebrews 2:16-17 discussing Christ’s humanity as He came to save mankind, not fallen angels. He is our High Priest, our representative to God. He made reconciliation for the sins of all people who would accept His finished work on Calvary’s Cross. Before Calvary, under the old Jewish economy, the high priest stood as the representative between God and man. On the Great Day of Atonement, the high priest went into the Holy of Holies with incense and blood from the sacrifice for the sins of himself and all of Israel. When God looked down, at the broken law in the Ark of the Covenant He only saw the sacrificial blood as it was applied to the mercy seat. This pointed to the shed blood of Jesus Christ to come. Our faith must forever be in His atoning work, then and only then, does His blood alone cleanse our sins. When I see the blood, I will pass over you.
