Today on Frances and Friends, Sister Swaggart and panel discuss the first Thanksgiving of 1621 where a small group of Pilgrims and Native Americans shared a meal together. So many Thanksgiving days followed after that, under General George Washington after the Battle of Saratoga; and then under Abraham Lincoln, declaring an acknowledgement of a National Day of thanks to God. Brother Donnie says the latter, of 1863 after the Battle Of Gettysburg, is where it truly turned to a Spiritual celebration with the last Thursday of every November being given over to thanks and praise to God. The panel wishes all a Happy Thanksgiving, and Sister Frances reminds viewers to never forget the elderly people during these times of holidays, when so many are left alone.
