The believer must not shackle the Holy Spirit with fear. Today on Frances and Friends, Sister Swaggart and the panel read 1 John chapter 4, discussing the power of the Holy Spirit that is available to all who believe on the blood of Jesus. Brother Donnie encourages us to walk in that power, because greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. The panel addresses the question of water baptisms performed by John the Baptist with regards to salvation; clarifying, that these baptisms, like all water baptisms today are to show forth outwardly an expression of faith that has already taken place inwardly in the heart of man. There is no salvation in the physical act of water baptism. It is a public testimony of one’s personal choice to choose Jesus as Savior. God has given a free will to all mankind to come to Him. The Holy Spirit is a Gentleman and will not force Himself on anyone. Some religions falsely teach that our salvation is already pre-determined by God. It is not. We have a choice to choose unbelief and deny Jesus Christ and make hell our home at death; or choose Christ, as Savior, and make heaven for all of eternity.
